You would not have to delve into the mechanics, the components and the technicality of how dishwashers function. You can simply read the error code, check the corresponding problem and opt for the recommended remedy. In this Electrolux dishwasher troubleshooting guide, we discuss some of the error codes you are likely to encounter and what you should do to resolve the issues they indicate.
Lights Flashing
When you find the lights on your dishwasher flashing with intermittent delays, it indicates the failure of the heating element. The water pumped into the dishwasher is not getting heated up to the preset temperature or it is not attaining the intended temperature within the required period of time. This problem occurs when the heating element has suffered a burnout. You can use a multimeter to check the continuity and if the heating element doesn’t respond to it indicating lack of continuity then you should have it replaced. To replace you would need a new compatible heating element. Check the model number of your Electrolux dishwasher on the label at the side to find the compatible heating element.
Error Codes
‘LOC’
You could find the error code ‘LOC’ or ‘loc’ displayed in the panel. This indicates a locked door. You should press the Air Dry pad button and hold it for three seconds with the door in the latched position. You could keep the door open in some new models. After three seconds, the control pad will be unlocked and the light will go out.

’01’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicated water leak. There is a sensor under Electrolux dishwashers that can detect water leaks. You should disconnect the dishwasher from its power source. Check the pumps, hoses and also the tub to look for leaks. Any part that is leaking should be replaced. The problem is almost always in the drain pump, drain hose or the recirculation pump.

‘02’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates a failed thermistor sensor. Disconnect from the power source and check the circuit wiring of the thermistor sensor. If the wiring is fine, the thermistor sensor needs to be replaced. If the wiring is faulty then you need to fix that before you can infer that the sensor is faulty.
’03’
’03’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the wash motor. Disconnect from the power source and check the wiring of the wash motor. Should the wiring be fine, there could be a problem in the pump, usually a blockage. You would need to replace the wash motor. Again, you can be sure only after being assured that the wiring is fine.
’04’
‘04’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the upper fan. Disconnect from the power source and check the upper fan’s wiring. Should the wiring be fine, the fan must be replaced.
’05’
‘05’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the vent or it could also be the upper fan. Check the wiring and then the vent. You may have to replace the wiring, the vent or the upper fan. Rare cases would require replacing all three.
’06’
‘06’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the lower fan. If the wiring is alright, the fan must be replaced. Both may require replacement if faulty.
’07’
‘07’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the drain valve. Check the wiring and replace the valve if the former is alright.
’08’
‘08’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the interface control. There is a switch on the interface that could be defective. You may have to replace the whole user interface.
’09’
‘09’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of communication through the user interface control or electronic control board. Loose wiring can cause connection problems between the electronic control board and the user interface control. Check the wires to ensure they are not the problem. Then you should check the electronic control board and the user interface control. You may have to replace either or both depending on if one or both are faulty.

‘10’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates a failure in the relay of the electronic control board. You would have to replace the ECB.
’11’
‘11’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates failure of the drain valve. Should the wiring be alright, the drain valve must be replaced.
’12’
‘12’ error code on an Electrolux dishwasher indicates a problem with the position of the drain valve. It may be activated when it is supposed to be switched off. Disconnect the dishwasher from the power source. Inspect the wiring of the drain valve and then the electronic control board. You may have to replace only the drain valve or just the electronic control board or both.
’13’
Error code ‘13’ indicates failure of the electronic control board and ‘30’ indicates problem of the wash motor circuit.
